May 4, 2026: Last week, Monday morning, I sat down at 7 AM with a full to-do list and a cup of chai.
By 11, I had too many tabs open. Not on my laptop. In my head. Student doubts piling up, mock tests to finish, a sales call that went sideways, a bug on the website.
I couldn’t pick a single thread.Got short of breath, and then spent the next hour sitting blank.
I think you know that feeling. When everything is due at the same time and you can’t figure out where to start, the weight doesn’t come from the work. It comes from the mess inside your head.
I came back to my desk that evening and worked three straight hours. I realised sometimes you just need to pick one thing and start.
By the end of the week, I was in flow, completing my to-do lists, reading books, and whatever that came in between.
The same week that broke me on Monday gave me one of my best workflows by Friday. Weeks are like that. Don’t judge yours by the worst day in it.
What I was up to this week
I spent a big chunk of this week putting together the UGC NET June Crash Course. The notification dropped on April 29, exams start June 22.
It’s live now. Check out the Crash Course here.
Try this one thing
Before you sit down to study, write one sentence on a piece of paper: “Today I will only finish ___.”
Fill in one topic. Not three. Not “as much as I can.” One.
If you finish it early, great, do more. But the goal is to remove the decision from your head.
Most of the stress isn’t from the work itself. It’s from choosing what to work on while ten other things are yelling at you.
Carry this with you
From my diary this week:
“Was today busy or productive? Honest answer: don’t know.”
I wrote that Last Monday. It hit me. If you feel the same about your study sessions sometimes, that’s not failure. That’s awareness. And awareness is the first step to fixing it.
