How to Calculate Your UGC NET English Score
| Correct answer | +2 marks |
| Wrong answer | 0 (no negative marking) |
| Not attempted | 0 |
| Paper 1 | 50 questions, 100 marks |
| Paper 2 (English) | 100 questions, 200 marks |
| Total | 300 marks |
Your score = 2 × (correct answers in Paper 1 + correct answers in Paper 2). Then compare it with the latest Assistant Professor cut-off. For example, 90 correct answers across both papers gives 180 out of 300, which is 60%.
How to Challenge an Answer
If you believe an answer in the provisional key is wrong, raise an objection during the window NTA announces. Select the question, choose the answer you think is correct, upload your supporting document and pay the fee for each question. The fee is non-refundable. NTA’s subject experts review every challenge, and the final answer key reflects their decision.
Paper Analysis
After the English paper, this section will show which topics came, how difficult the paper was, and which questions look disputable. Until then, the analyses of the last papers show what to expect:
